"Meet Your Monkeys: Make Friends with the Meanies and Imps that Rule your Mind"

A whimsical graphic quest into the jungle of your brains and emotions, "Meet your Monkeys" reveals secrets from neuroscience and the study of self-talk, shame, social programming, and trauma. Self-sabotage much? It's NOT your fault! Make friends with your monkey brain with mindful self-compassion. Coming 2024.

Who is "Meet Your Monkeys for?

The primary audience is YA (Young Adult). My creative identity was forged in the cauldron of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and trauma. About 60%–75% of individuals in North America experience a traumatic event at some point in their lifetime.* I'm passionate about serving teens and young adults who've had similar experiences, as well as adults.

For over ten years I facilitated brave spaces for teens to practice self-acceptance, and the courage to express their truth, from the heart. I also developed content for WA state's Youth Suicide Prevention Program.

*About 61% of adults surveyed across 25 states reported they had experienced at least one type of ACE before age 18, and nearly 1 in 6 reported they had experienced four or more types of ACEs.
